Voter & Election Information

Voter Registration Information

Federal law mandates that all colleges and universities in the country make voter registration forms available to all students attending their institutions who are eligible to vote.

Princeton University is committed to supporting this process and helping its students engage in this vital civic duty.

To be eligible to vote in New Jersey one must be:

  • a United States citizen
  • 18 years of age by the next election
  • a resident of the State and county 30 days before the election
  • NOT currently serving a sentence, probation, or parole because of a felony conviction

The registration deadline in New Jersey is 21 days before an election. To get more information, download voter registration or vote-by-mail forms, and go to the New Jersey Division of Elections at Elections.NJ.gov.  Election and voting information are on the left side of the screen. NOTE: If you are completing the voter registration form, on line 6 of the form it will ask for your “county.” You reside in Mercer County.

Students who are not from New Jersey may register to vote in New Jersey or in their home state. Voter Information for all states can be found at: yourvoteyourvoice.org
