Emily has a diverse employment experience in the land use and planning field.  She began her career working for a regional land trust in central New Jersey as a GIS Specialist and Land Stewardship Assistant where she learned the significance of ecosystem connectivity.  During the next ten years Emily worked with several engineering firms where she prepared and submitted permit applications to State and regional environmental regulatory agencies.  This experience taught Emily the importance of factoring the environmental constraints early in planning and the site design of a project.  Prior to coming to Princeton University, Emily was a senior planner with a private firm and in this role guided several municipal clients to create plans and regulations to bring their visions of future development for their communities to life.  

In 2002, Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College with a major in economics and a minor in environmental studies.  In 2006, She earned a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University.  
Responsibilities:

• Work with others on campus to create and carry out a coherent, long-term strategy through which Princeton University can successfully fulfill the University’s education and research mission through thoughtful development of facilities to meet the changing needs for space.
• Work closely with other University departments to secure approvals and resolve problems related to often complex and multi-jurisdictional construction, land-use planning, zoning and economic development issues.
• Monitor and evaluate changes in the state, regional and local regulatory environment to anticipate and identify impacts on the University’s real estate holdings and capital construction projects.
